A new AI tool assesses how lifestyle factors like drinking, smoking, poor diet, and exercise impact heart aging. The tool, developed by a team led by Prof Declan O'Regan, uses AI to analyze MRI scans and compare the heart's age to an individual's birth age.

The research aims to reverse heart damage, mitigate stroke and heart disease risks. The AI tool could reveal genetic and lifestyle factors contributing to premature heart ageing, potentially leading to treatments that extend healthier lives.
