AI news - my headlines

>1

ChatGPT has got another rival Anthropic, a US AI company, has unveiled Claude 2, a chatbot rival to ChatGPT that can summarize large text blocks and adheres to a set of safety principles based on documents like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

While Claude 2 can summarize texts up to 75,000 words, it has shown some inaccuracies, but is now a strong competitor of ChatGPT - just not quite there yet.

Shopify has launched an AI Sidekick, called Sidekick. The new AI chatbot assistant called "Sidekick" to assist merchants with tasks and provide information. Sidekick (how many time can I use this word?!)can explain sales trends, answer frequently asked questions, and help edit website themes.

The tool will be accessible through a chat box in the Shopify dashboard. Other companies have also released AI assistants as the AI trend continues to gain traction. The specific timeline for Sidekick's release has not been disclosed.

Elon Musk is also launching an OpenAI competitor Of course he is! It’s called xAI, focused on artificial intelligence research. The company's website mentions a goal of understanding the true nature of the universe but does not provide specific details about research areas or AI products.

xAI (!) plans to work closely with Twitter and Tesla and is actively hiring engineers and researchers. Musk's move is seen as a potential rival to OpenAI, and the debate surrounding politicized chatbots has also emerged… good topic!

AI Tools - latest picks to help improve your business or career

Poised.com - This powerful AI tool is basically a personal comms coach. It gives you real time suggestions on what you are writing.

Rewind.ai - Really unique in that it records anything you’ve seen, said, or heard and makes it searchable. Could be scary and takes a while to get used to.

Daily AI Tutorial - level up your skills

Free online courses to learn AI basics (in their words) “The Elements of AI is a series of free online courses created by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki. We want to encourage as broad a group of people as possible to learn what AI is, what can (and can’t) be done with AI, and how to start creating AI methods. The courses combine theory with practical exercises and can be completed at your own pace” - Free sounds good to me.
